Derryll J. Johnson
Chief Education & Technology Officer
Derryll J. Johnson is an accomplished STEAM educator, curriculum developer, and creative consultant with over 25 years of experience in the fields of education, instructional design, and project management. Currently serving as an instructor at North Atlanta High School, Mr. Johnson has made significant contributions to the fields of geography, graphic design, and computer science education in traditional and charter schools. He has successfully led the school's Graphic Design CTAE Pathway to Industry Accreditation and coached students to numerous state championships in SkillsUSA competitions.
With a Master’s degree in Instruction and Curriculum Leadership and certifications in both Georgia and Tennessee, Derryll has a proven track record of developing and implementing rigorous, standards-aligned curricula across multiple disciplines. As a former Social Studies Senior Curriculum Writer and Interim Social Studies Specialist for Shelby County Schools, he designed and edited the gamut of social studies curricula, integrating best practices and Common Core standards to enhance student learning and engagement. Mr Johnson has had the unique opportunity to successfully lead classroom instruction and curriculum development in both core education and CTAE.
Education & Beyond
Mr. Johnson is a proud graduate of Morris Brown College (B.A) and the University of Memphis (M.A.T.), received his Graphic Design certifications from Devry Institute. He has completed fellowships at Princeton University, Georgia Tech, and Columbus State University. He also is a member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Project Management Institute and Computer Science for Georgia (CS4GA).
